City Mail Services provides mail delivery and courier services for City government offices, departments, and agencies.

The City Mail Service, managed by Rhonda Allen, Program Manager II is a part of the Supply Commissioner's Office and is located at 1520 Market, Room B-024. The Mail Services unit is staffed with a Manager, six (6) Messenger/Mail Clerks and a Clerk Typist.

Mail is delivered twice daily to 67 different City Departments citywide using (3) motorized routes. Approximately 1 million pieces of first class mail at presort and regular rates are processed into the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) by City Mail Services in an average year. City Mail Services also folds and inserts approximately 250,000 pieces of mail annually. The City Hall building route is serviced twice daily.

New services include a Courier Messenger Service for City Departments. Service is rendered on a standard service of "on the scheduled route" or on an "emergency" basis as necessary. At present there is no charge for this service. It is performed with the existing manpower and vehicles. In FY '05 the Courier Service performed almost 300 trips for city departments.

Additional services offered include Express Mail, Certified Mail, Priority Mail, Registered Mail via USPS and package shipments via Federal Express. Special one time date sensitive large volume mailings are also handled.
