BAC facilitates the licensing and permitting of businesses in the City of St. Louis and acts as the ombudsman for the City business community.
Opening or Expanding a Business
Opening or expanding a business can be complex and time-consuming. You can save a lot of time with an initial call to the Business Assistance Center (BAC) at (314) 622-4120.
BAC will do much of the legwork for you. It simplifies and streamlines the process for the licensing and permitting of your new or expanding business. With one telephone call you can:
- Access information needed to open your business in the City of St. Louis.
- Receive by email all appropriate applications for

- Home occupation waivers
- Business licenses
- Contractor's licenses
- Building permits
