Show Me Peace

The Show Me Peace program deploys credible messengers to prevent and reduce violence by responding to firearm related violence, leading conflict mediation, uplifting community education, and steering those involved in violence (or at a high risk of violence) into alternative positive choices.

Program Overview

Mission St. Louis' Show Me Peace involves credible messengers on a daily basis meaningfully engaging with the small number of individuals at the center of gun violence. The program's goal is to build trust and form the personal relationships needed to deescalate or mediate conflicts and prevent violence. Messengers may also connect violence-impacted individuals to critical supportive social services. The goal is to allow those at the center of violence to see and seek out alternatives.

Show Me Peace operates in the following neighborhoods:

  • Dutchtown/Gravois Park/Mt. Pleasant
  • Walnut Park East/West
  • Wells-Goodfellow/Hamilton Heights
  • Greater Ville/The Ville/JVL

The program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

The program is operated by Mission St. Louis: https://www.missionstl.org/
