About the Office of New Americans

Learn more about how the Office of New Americans helps new immigrants in the St. Louis area

The Office of New Americans, established in 2023, streamlines resources for immigrants and refugees making their way into St. Louis, and for foreign-born residents who currently live in the City.

Since 2021, St. Louis has welcomed more than a thousand new residents from Ukraine, Afghanistan, and more through partner organizations like the International Institute. In 2024, the St. Louis metro area was the U.S. city with the largest increase in foreign-born population. Immigrants are integral to the success of St. Louis as a city.
