This bill, recommended by the Board of Estimate and Apportionment, authorizes and directs the Mayor and Comptroller of the City of St. Louis, on behalf of the City, to enter into and execute an agreement or agreements with the Missouri Department of Transportation (“MODOT”) for the receipt of MODOT Highway Safety Grant funding; appropriating the sum of Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000) which the City has been awarded as a MODOT Highway Safety Grant for the purpose of implementing a pilot program for driver’s education for low-income students enrolled in high schools located in the St. Louis Public Schools District; authorizing and directing the Director of the Department of Public Safety (“DPS”) to contract with municipal agencies, non-profit corporations and other entities, as necessary for the expenditure of the Highway Safety Grant Funding; and directing the Comptroller to issue warrants thereon upon the City Treasury; containing an emergency clause.
