During a brief ceremony in the Mayor's Office on April 29, 2021, Mayor Tishaura Jones presented a proclamation to Cynthia Askew, who is happily retiring to have fun with her grandbabies.
Cynthia joined the Mayor's Office in August 2019 as Receptionist under the administration of Mayor Lyda Krewson and continued to serve with distinction, performing a variety of duties in Mayor Jones' administration.
Cynthia's duties have included helping constituents engage with City of St. Louis services and opportunities, processing incoming legal documents, greeting visitors and making the Mayor's Office a warm and welcoming experience, and assisting various staff members with special projects.
Cynthia is an effective communicator, good listener, multitasker, organizer, and is kind and patient. She has been an incredibly valuable employee, and her presence in the Mayor's Office has brought brightness, positivity, and friendliness to all staff, special guests, and City employees who visit.
We are all so grateful for Cynthia Askew's work as a receptionist in Room 200, and Mayor Jones was proud to issue the proclamation to recognize her work as she moves into retirement.
