Extra Help from Social Security is a program for those receiving Medicare and would like assistance with paying for Part D premiums and deductibles, reducing co-pays and eliminating the coverage gap. This service is also used to screen for other programs you may qualify for that may pay for your Medicare Part B premiums, deductibles, and other costs. This is a free program provided to those who qualify.

To be eligible for this program, your income must be $1,361 per month or less for a single person or $1,838 per month or less for a couple.  In addition, you must have less than $12,640 in assets for a single person or less than $25,260 for a couple.

Do you meet the qualifications?  If yes, we have a Benefits Specialist who can fill out the application over the phone or meet with you in person. Please call the Saint Louis Area Agency on Aging at (314) 612-5918 to fill out your application over the phone or to schedule an appointment to meet with the Benefits Specialists.
