The 22nd annual "Spring Jubilee" in celebration of Older Americans Month will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Upsilon Omega Foundation, 3900 Goodfellow Blvd. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. The event is free to all City of St. Louis residents who are 60 years old or older.
May was first proclaimed as "Senior Citizens Month" in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy, and was later changed to "Older Americans Month" by President Jimmy Carter. The month of May has been designated to honor our nation's more than 34 million older Americans and the contributions they have made and continue to make to our great nation.
The national theme for this year's celebration is "Connect, Create and Contribute." In St. Louis, we will celebrate the theme with "the Generations Connect, Create and Contribute through Music." Participants at the Spring Jubilee are encouraged to dress in a way that represents the music of their generation.
In addition to entertainment, there will be an area to meet service providers and obtain health screenings. Parking is available and free.
