Meeting Notice

Brownfield Cleanup at 3660 Market Street

St. Louis Development Corporation is preparing to award funding from a US Environmental Protection Agency grant for a brownfield cleanup at 3660 Market

The 180,000 square foot Armory has been underutilized for many years. The building was constructed in 1938 to house the 138th Infantry Division and was later used as an amateur sports academy and then indoor tennis, soccer and softball facility.

The proposed project contemplates a full renovation of the building that incorporate sustainable features. The development team will target creative firms and tenants seeking collaborative office environments. Building amenities will include a rooftop patio/bar area providing views of downtown St. Louis, a fitness facility, and a coffee venue. A 10,000 square foot atrium on the ground floor will be available for special events. The project will also include public improvement to the surrounding area and will provide enhanced connectivity to the adjacent Metrobus and Metrolink station.

Two meetings are being held to obtain comments on the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives. The meetings are;

Tuesday, June 19th, at 7:00 PM at 3811 Blaine St. Louis, MO 63110 (a two-family house that sits inside Tiffany Park)

and

Wednsday, June 20th, at 6:00 PM Crave Coffee House (a former church), 3500 Caroline St, St. Louis, MO 63104

The comment period will be open until 5:00 pm June 29th, 2018.

Questions or comments may be submitted to Peter Phillips at phillipsp@stlouis-mo.gov or 314-657-3736.
