Job Qualifications

Qualifications include a minimum of a High School diploma or a GED, A.A. in business, marketing, or related field preferred. 3+ years of business and/or administrative experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, demonstrate outstanding organizational skills, and possess good written and verbal communication skills. Must show the ability to coordinate and juggle multiple priorities. Must have experience with social media. Must be able to work independently as well as with other department heads, committees/teams, elected officials, citizens, and media.

General Summary

Under direct supervision performs a variety of duties for the Communications/Marketing and Minority Business Development departments. Assists the MBD director in the implementation of programs and services, which advance opportunities for growth of minority-owned and women-owned businesses. Assists with special events, and resolves administrative problems and inquiries; composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence, pitches, articles, and reports; and prepares a range of documents.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Requires St. Louis City residency within 180 days of employment.
