Saint Louis County Hosts Regional Hiring Fair to Support Displaced  Workers

Job seekers are invited to explore multiple career opportunities on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 9 am to 2 pm, at Northwest Plaza

SAINT LOUIS COUNTY, MO (January 2, 2025) – St. Louis County Human Services, in partnership with the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment, the city of St. Louis, St. Clair County, and St. Charles County, is proud to host the St. Louis Regional Hiring Fair on Thursday, January 9, at Northwest Plaza.

The free event, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is a regional effort to connect displaced workers, including those affected by recent layoffs in the St. Louis area, with over 30 employers actively seeking new talent. Free parking is available.

Participating industries include aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, utilities, customer service, and more. Notable employers include St. Louis County Government, Ameren, Craftsmen Industries, Serioplast, Oracle, and Procter & Gamble, among others.

“We are pleased to host this regionwide hiring event,” said County Executive Dr. Sam Page. “This is a great opportunity to connect our residents with jobs and I am pleased to see so many employers joining us to help grow our economy.”

Greg Laposa, Division Manager of Workforce Development, emphasized the significance of this regional collaboration.

“This hiring fair demonstrates the strength of our partnerships across the St. Louis metro area. By working together, we’re creating opportunities to keep local talent here and ensure that our workforce remains vibrant and resilient.”

Attendees will also have access to resources provided by SLATE staff and the Missouri Job Center, including employment and training opportunities. Ambur L. Banner, Director of Human Services, highlighted the fair’s importance.
