Free Us Group Track

The Free Us Group Track program sponsors the release of individuals from pre-trial detention and fosters the individualized healing journey towards positive relationships that facilitate accountability.

Program Overview

The Freedom Community Center's Free Us Group Track program sponsors the release of individuals who would otherwise be held in pre-trial detention until their trial. Individuals are able to fight their case from a position of freedom while being connected to social services. Participants start a healing journey through group and individual therapy, one-on-one mentoring, and are trained on strategies and tactics as part of a nonviolence curriculum. Relationships between members and cohorts are fostered to facilitate accountability. Free Us Group Track demonstrates to those within the criminal legal system and community members that accountability can happen without prioritizing punishment.

The program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

The program is operated by the Freedom Community Center: https://www.freedomstl.org/
