Kristen Capps-Jones joined CEMA as Grants Manager in February 2024. She comes to the City of St. Louis with 17 years of public service experience from her previous roles in police dispatch, communications training, police administration, and emergency management. Her most recent work includes managing Homeland Security Grant Programs in the St. Louis region, including the Urban Area Security Initiative and the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program. Her project management focus areas have included the Complex Coordinated Terrorist Attack program, healthcare supply chain resilience, regional threat and hazard identification, and regional capability assessments.
Kristen earned a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of Missouri - Columbia, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and is also a graduate of FEMAs National Emergency Management Basic Academy.
