Public Notice
The City of St. Louis Planning Commission will conduct a Presentation and Public Hearing on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. at 1520 Market St., Suite 2000 to consider the Adoption of Amendment #18 of the Strategic Land Use Plan (SLUP) of the St. Louis Comprehensive Plan.
The SLUP was adopted in January 2005 and was most recently amended by SLUP Amendment #17 on December 7, 2016. Unlike SLUP Amendment #17, which was initiated in response to a change in vision for a large, under-utilized development site in The Hill neighborhood, proposed SLUP Amendment #18 is a general update of the SLUP map. This typically occurs on an annual basis (with multiple sites located throughout the City). Each SLUP amendment occurs after a required Public Hearing and approval by the Planning Commission.
City of St. Louis Planning and Urban Design Agency (PDA) staff will make a presentation regarding the proposed SLUP changes for 15 sites scattered throughout the City as part of PDA’s annual SLUP map update. The changes are based on action items previously approved by the Planning Commission (redevelopment plans, rezonings, etc.) since the last update when a development project has been completed on those sites or when the SLUP’s “adjacency rule” was used, as well as incremental development projects that have occurred over time.
A list and maps of the 15 proposed sites is available on PDA’s website for your review.
The public comment review period began with the publishing of public notices in The City Journal and St. Louis Daily Record on December 18, 2018 and will extend through the Public Hearing at the January 7, 2019 Planning Commission meeting. The Public Hearing will follow PDA’s standard rules and regulations requiring speakers to sign in and limit their comments to a designated time period.
Written review comments regarding the proposed SLUP Amendment #18 will be accepted through the Public Hearing and should be submitted to Roman Kordal, City of St. Louis PDA, 1520 Market St., Suite 2000, St. Louis, MO 63103 or kordalr@stlouis-mo.gov. The Planning Commission will vote on the Adoption (approval) of SLUP Amendment #18 at the January 7, 2019 Planning Commission meeting. For further information, please contact Roman Kordal at (314) 657-3872.
