Annual Point-in-Time Count for Unsheltered St. Louisans
Mayor Jones stops by Biddle House in support of all the volunteers counting the unhoused.
St. Louis’ annual Point-in-Time (PIT) count was conducted last week, which counts the number of people experiencing homelessness in our community on a single night. Outreach workers and volunteers counted how many of our neighbors live without shelter in our city. This year, the City of St. Louis’ Department of Human Services has made a significant investment in our unhoused services; we now require all of our partner shelters to operate 24/7 and provide wraparound services to help get people into supportive housing.
Mayor Jones stopped by Biddle House to hear from Peter & Paul Community Services frontline workers about shelter operations and how the PIT impacts their work. Thank you to the kitchen staff for letting Mayor Jones help out too!
