INC Yourself 2011 got off to a great start with its first business seminar last month. Some 150 current and aspiring businesses owners came out to hear Comptroller Darlene Green and Sandra Marks of Marks and Associates reveal the best ways to make the most of emerging business opportunities in the St. Louis region.

Marks revealed products and services the city of St. Louis and higher education institutions are seeking and how new and existing businesses can take advantage of area institutions seeking new people to do business with.

“I’ve had departments calling me from places like Washington University saying they are looking for fresher blood to work with. They want to support people from St. Louis who have what they need in the areas of supplies and contract work and I want to help get people ready to move in that direction,” said a passionate Marks who has been a business coach for the past 25 years.

Comptroller Green’s INC Yourself 2011 series will continue on March 24 with a seminar on how to do business with healthcare institutions, and on April 19 with how to do business with airports and the federal government. These free workshops will all be held at the new William J. Harrison Center located at 3140 Cass Ave. starting at 5 p.m.

INC Yourself in 2011 is a 45 minute free workshop designed to teach people about starting or expanding a business. Seating is limited so please reserve your spot today for the upcoming sessions by calling (314) 612-1462 or emailing incyourself2011@gmail.com.
