Sixth Ward Petition for the Installation of Speed Humps

Summary
This application/petition is to request the installation of a speed hump in the 6th Ward.  The application/petition must:

- Be signed by representatives of at least two-thirds of the properties on each block.

- The petition only requires one valid signature per property (either owner or resident).

- Each signature must be identified by a typed or printed name, address, and telephone number.


After verifying the signatures on the petition, the next steps in speed hump installation are:

- Ensuring the proposed speed hump doesn’t interfere with snow or emergency routes.

- Checking with the current Ward Capital budget. No more than 10% of the budget for each fiscal year will be spent on speed humps.

- Upon budget approval, a board bill must be filed at the Board of Aldermen, approved by the Public Infrastructure and Utilities Committee, then approved by the full Board of Aldermen.

- Installations of speed humps are made on a rolling basis each fall and spring.
