Board of Aldermen
The Board of Aldermen is the legislative body of the City of St. Louis and creates, passes, and amends local laws, as well as approve the City's budget every year. There are fourteen aldermen, one from each ward in the City and a President.
Board Bills
Legislation is introduced by Aldermen in the form of a Board Bill.
Resolutions
Resolutions are made to express consensus on matters of public policy, or for internal administrative purposes.
Ordinances
After a Bill is adopted by the Board of Aldermen and signed by the Mayor, it becomes a City Ordinance.
