Annual City Pay Bill

Board Bill

This Board Bill will collapse the commissioned Police and Fire matrixes within the current compensation ordinance from the current thirty (30) steps to twenty (20) steps. It will increase the rate of pay for all full-time commissioned Police and Fire employees who have between zero (0) and one (1) years of service time with the City by seven percent (7%). It will increase the rates of pay for those commissioned Police and Fire employees who currently have between twenty-one (21) and thirty (30) years of service by amounts ranging from two percent (2%) to nearly five percent (4.9%). In addition, this Board Bill will increase the rate of pay for all other full time civil service employees by three percent (3%). This Board Bill will permit civil service employees the ability to be granted the use of any paid vacation or medical leave that they have accrued after completing ninety (90) days of continuous service, instead of after twenty-six (26) weeks of continuous service. This Board Bill will change the vacation accrual maximums for commissioned Police employees. Commissioned Police employees hired before the effective date of this ordinance will have their maximum vacation balances changed from six hundred (600) hours to five hundred (500) hours and receive a one-time payment for all vacation hours accrued and unused over this new maximum amount. Commissioned Police employees hired on or after the effective date of this ordinance will have a new vacation maximum of two hundred and forty (240) hours.
