ST. LOUIS — An exciting initiative was launched on this unofficial “314 Day” in St. Louis. “STLMade” and its theSTL.com website hit the internet this morning. The drive of the initiative is to showcase the people, services and accomplishments found around the St. Louis region that are helping to expand our reach, bring light to the opportunities that St. Louis has to offer, while at the same time, seek out ways to address the challenges surrounding the area.
The initiative was created by a conglomerate of leaders from various organizations around the region including The Regional Business Council, The St. Louis Regional Chamber of Commerce, Civic Progress, educational institutions and civic entities. These organizations all recognized the need for one message that could be promoted throughout the region. This group created the “STLMade” initiative to promote the people of the St. louis region and build national awareness, in order to move the St. Louis region forward.
Otis Williams, Executive Director of St. Louis Development Corporation stated, “The region is always in competition with many other Midwest cities that have compelling stories in order to attract potential residents, businesses and industry. This initiative is a great way for the region to get the word out about how great our city and the region are.”
The ultimate goal of the initiative is to improve both the regional and national perceptions about St. Louis, and create local support among the regions populations that will help attract new talent and investment to the St. Louis area..
The STLMade initiative will be unveiled at a special edition of Venture Café from 5 p.m. – 8 pm today
