Mark Sundlov Named Director of Soldiers Memorial Military Museum
Will manage the overall operations of the Museum, its Court of Honor and oversee and direct exhibits, programming, collections and administration

U.S. Air Force veteran Mark Sundlov has joined the Missouri Historical Society (MHS) team as the Director of Soldiers Memorial Military Museum, which reopens on Nov. 3, 2018, following a two-year, $30 million renovation.
In his role as Director of Soldiers Memorial, Sundlov is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Museum and its Court of Honor as part of the MHS family. Soldiers Memorial came under the operational leadership of MHS in 2015. Sundlov oversees and directs exhibits, programming, collections, visitor experience and administration for the museum facility.
A native of Fredonia, New York, Sundlov graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in U.S. History. He then served as a Missile Combat Crew Commander in the Minuteman missile system in North Dakota. Following his service, Sundlov worked in the Historic Sites system of Wisconsin and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Master of Arts in Public History and Museum Studies. He has also served as Division Director of the State Historical Society of North Dakota and was responsible for managing 27 State Historic Sites including the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site, Fort Buford State Historic Site, and the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center.
Sundlov is a member of the American Association for State and Local History and is eager to get involved with organizations and veterans groups in the St. Louis area.
Sundlov resides in the Lafayette Square Square neighborhood of St. Louis.
