Mammography Screening
beginning on March 21, 2018 at City Hall

The Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is offering mammograms to women age 40 and over. Through the continued partnership between the City of St. Louis and Siteman Cancer Center, on-site screenings will be carried out at different City sites in 2018, beginning on March 21 at City Hall.
Employees going through the screening will need to have:
1. City Medical Insurance Card
2. City ID or other PHoto Identification

Please review the following screening eligibility and take advantage of the locations accessible to all City employees.
Eligibility Requirements
- Patients must not have had a screening mammogram in the past 12 months.
- Women ages 40 and over do not require a physician referral to be screened on the van.
- Women between the ages of 35 and 39 that have cause to begin earlier screening, may be screened on the van with a Physician's order. However, mammograms for patients under the age of 40 may not be covered by insurance. We advise paients to check with their insurance carrier for coverage. Women younger than 35 may not be screened on the van.
- No current breast problems (such as palpable lump, skin changes or nipple discharge). In the best interest of quality and comprehensive care for the patient, it is necessary for women with breast symptoms to have a diagnostic work-up in the Breast Health Center.
- No current breast cancer treatment.
- Any history of breast cancer with lumpectomy and radiation must be greater than 5 years prior, in order for a patient to be screened on the van.
- Women with a history of mastectomy may be screened on the van 1 year post-mastectomy.
- Women who are pregnant cannot be screened on the van.
