CENTRAL LIBRARY HOSTS DIGITAL BOOKMOBILE AND STREET PARTY!
The St. Louis Public Library is proud host the OverDrive Digital Bookmobile, an 18-wheel, 74-foot long, hi-tech tour de force for ONE DAY ONLY! There will also be a street party with food and fun for all ages. The event takes place at Central Library,1 301 Olive Street, on July 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is FREE and open to the public.
The Digital Bookmobile is an update of the traditional bookmobile and showcases the St. Louis Public Library's vast downloadable collection.
Inside, visitors will be able to explore:
* Broadband Internet-Connected Computers
* HiDef Monitors
* Portable Media Players
* Premium Sound Systems
* Audiobook Alley
* eBook Experience
* Digital Catalog
* Hands-On Learning Stations
* Gadget Gallery
* Video Lounge
Library and OverDrive staff will present interactive demonstrations of new and exciting ways to download materials. Visitors can bring their own digital device or use the Digital Bookmobile's phones, tablets, and e-readers that are compatible with the Library's downloadable collection. Either way visitors can browse the Library's digital media collection and download eBooks, audiobooks, music, and videos!
In addition,Urban Eats Café Central, the Library's all-new café, will have lunches and refreshments available for purchase from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and a DJ will spin summertime tunes. Visitors will be able to let their creative juices flow with sidewalk chalk (provided) in front of the Library. And of course, they can sign up for a Library card right on the spot.
It will be the perfect way to enjoy a mid-summer's day downtown!
