ST. LOUIS PUBLIC PUBLIC LIBRARY'S CONTEMPORARY TUESDAY NIGHTS PREMIERS WITH CLASSICAL PIANIST/COMPOSER TIM JANSEN
The St. Louis Public Library is proud to present the premier of its Contemporary Tuesday Nights series. The series' first performer is pianist/composer Tim Jansen, who will perform piano sonatas by Beethoven and Liszt. The event takes place in Central Library's Auditorium,1301 Olive Street, on August 12 at 7 p.m. The event is FREE and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first-served.
Tim Jansen has performed throughout the United States and frequently performs at the Sheldon Concert Hall, where he is the Artist in Residence with St. Louis Pro Musica. He is the founding member of the Mission Trio and regularly performs with members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra.
During the Franz Liszt 200th Anniversary Celebration, Jansen became one of only three artists in the world to perform both the Liszt 'B Minor' Sonata on piano and the 'Ad nos' Sonata on organ in the same recital.
Tim Jansen is an accomplished composer and was one of two local composers commissioned to write a work for the Evening Prayer Service during the last Papal visit of Pope John Paul II.
