ST. LOUIS PUBLIC LIBRARY'S INTERACTIVE SERIES, CENTRAL CONVERSATIONS, RETURNS FOR SECOND SEASON WITH PET ADVOCACY
The St. Louis Public Library is proud to announce the first installment of its interactive series, Central Conversations, on April 13 at Central Library, 1301 Olive Street. Light refreshments will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion from 6:30-8 p.m. The topic is Pet Advocacy.
Whether you've got a dog, cat or a slew of furry friends roaming around your home, one thing holds true: A happy and healthy pet is one that is cared for with love. It's true, really, that pets have humans and the Library wants to help all patrons give their pets the best lives possible.
Join moderator Jennifer Blome, the former host of KSDK (Channel 5) Today in St. Louis for 35 years, as she leads an informative panel of experts discussing the health and wellbeing of animal companions. Topics include the importance of spay/neutering, exercise, adoption, nutrition, co-habitation with humans and overall pet knowledge.
Joining Blome are panelists:
Steve Kaufman, is the Executive Director at the Animal Protective Association of Missouri. Kaufman is a recognized leader in bringing people and pets together for over 20 years.
Brandyn Jones is Executive Director of Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center. Jones proudly says, "I love cats," and is personally responsible for overseeing the lives of more than 100 cats and kittens.
Joy Gioia is President of the St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri House Rabbit Society. The organization has a dual purpose of rescue and education. Utilizing foster homes as well as The Bunny House Shelter, volunteers provide appropriate care and socialization opportunities to rabbits so that they may be adopted into loving, permanent, indoor homes.
Later this year, Central Conversations will focus on Community Empowerment (June 8) and Kickin' Butt @ Small Business (Sept. 14). The conversation will continue after each event through social media and our blog.
