Assistance Available for Displaced Dellwood and Ferguson Employees

United Way 2-1-1, St. Louis County Seeking Impacted Employees in Ferguson, Dellwood

This month, United Way 2-1-1 and St. Louis County are coordinating to help individuals who were employed at Ferguson and Dellwood area businesses impacted by the November unrest.

Displaced employees may call United Way2-1-1 by dialing 2-1-1 or 1-800-427-462 6to determine their eligibility to receive assistance with basic needs and employment support. Individuals who are eligible will receive additional information from a United Way2-1-1 representative.

"Since August, United Way has helped nearly 2,000 people in the Ferguson community with basic needs to prevent homelessness, respite and counseling following unrest in the region," said Regina Greer, United Way of Greater St. Louis vice president of community response. "We're pleased to partner with St. Louis County on this round of support that is targeted specifically to business owners and employees who were negatively impacted in November. We urge people to call United Way 2-1-1 to determine if they're eligible for assistance this month."

For this support, United Way 2-1-1 is continuing to execute the first portion of its $1 million contract agreement with St. Louis County to help people impacted by events in Ferguson. United Way will use up to $1 million to provide basic needs to prevent homelessness, crisis support and mental health counseling, and community building.
