Public Service Recognition Week is celebrated the first week of May since 1985 (beginning on the first Sunday of the month) to honor the men and women who serve our great Nation as federal, state, county and local government employees.
During this week we acknowledge our Nation's civil servants for their hard work and willingness to serve their fellow citizens. The contributions of these dedicated men and women strengthen our country and make a profound difference in the lives of all Americans.
Civil servants bring incredible skills, tireless dedication, and selfless service to a broad range of career fields. Every day, our Nation's civil servants help make our cities, states and country better, safer, and stronger. During this week, let us honor their efforts and extend gratitude for their dedication and steadfast commitment to public service.
