Citizen Advisory Committee
The Citizen Advisory Committee was formed to help guide the City during the search for a new chief of police.
Purpose
The Citizen Advisory Committee was formed to help guide the City during the search for a new chief of police. It's role is to shape the structure of the search, provide input on what the search should look like and give the City feedback along the way.
Result
The Citizen Advisory Committee identified six final candidates for police commissioner and held a town hall on December 14th, 2017 where the public had the opportunity to learn about the candidates and offer feedback.
On December 28, 2017, Mayor Lyda Krewson and Public Safety Director Jimmie Edwards appointed John Hayden as Chief of Police and Commissioner of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, effective immediately.
The Mayor greatly appreciates the hard work and passion of the members of the CAC during their six months of service.
