February 2015: Shalonda Covington is Employee of the Month

Shalonda Covington is our Employee of the Month for February 2015. She works as a Payroll Specialist II in Room 210 at City Hall. 

Shalonda has been in her current position since September 2000 and describes her job as "all things payroll." This includes processing payroll for all City departments including the Police and Fire Department(s). In addition, she processes salary increases, adjustments and new employees. Shalonda is also the personal Payroll Specialist for the Comptroller's Office, where she handles time sheets, leave balances and family/medical leave, etc.

Shalonda says the best part of her job is "...being able to help solve problems for employees" and "ensuring that everyone is paid on time and correctly." Outside of work, she enjoys spending her free time with family. Congratulations Shalonda, on being named our Employee of the Month for February and keep up the great work!
