Located in City Hall Room 424, just down the hall from the Permit Section, Hotspot is a special service of the Cultural Resources Office, to assist citizens in historic districts and to expedite permit review.  At Hotspot, an applicant can get advice about a planned project, and assistance with revisions to bring the project into compliance with the standards for the historic district.

The CRO plan reviewer can also approve smaller projects over-the-counter: for example, windows, roofing, fencing, and more; and help home owners with general technical assistance.  From the correct mortar compound for your wall to the proper techniques to restore an entire building, Hotspot is a great source for your preservation project.

Hotspot Hours

A plan reviewer is available from 10am to 3pm Monday & Wednesday. Currently there is no phone at the desk, so any Hotspot questions should be directed to our main office at 314-657-3865. Applicants may also come to our main office at 1520 Market St. Suite 2000 M-F between the hours of 8:30-4:00 for a review if the the Hotspot desk is closed.
