The Railway Exchange building takes up an entire City Block and, at 1.2 million square feet, is the second largest building downtown. Floors one through six currently house Macy's Department Store, downtown's only department store.

Keeping Macy's at this location is critically important to the vitality of Downtown. The developers - Rick Yackey and Bill and Brian Bruce - have a plan to renovate the building that will do just that. Macy's will be reconfigured to three floors and will be more reflective of the shopping needs of downtown residents and workers. The upper floors will be renovated for commercial use.
