The St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) is pleased to host the First Annual Youth Leadership Workforce Awards Luncheon, being held at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in downtown St. Louis, 315 Chestnut Street, on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 12:00 noon.

Leadership development is a core component of SLATE’s Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funded Youth Program, helping to encourage responsibility, community engagement, teamwork, and other positive characteristics in tomorrow’s workforce. The first recipients of the Youth Leadership Workforce Award are young men and women who best demonstrate these qualities.

The awardees, and the dedicated case managers who serve them, will be recognized through a certificate of appreciation and an etiquette workshop hosted by Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Youth will also have the opportunity to eat and converse with top business executives and civic leaders in the St. Louis community who will be in attendance.

Michael K. Holmes, Executive Director of SLATE, will be the key note speaker for this lunch
celebration. “I look forward to letting both our young customers know how much we value their persistence and hard work. They are in the first stages of a lifelong journey but they have already made us proud,” he states.
