Personal Property Declaration Forms are due to the Assessor's Office no later than April 1, 2014 for all St. Louis residents and businesses.  A 10% filing penalty is added to the assessed value of all personal property assets if the return is postmarked after April 1st.

If you were a resident of another Missouri County on January 1st of the prior year, you will need to notify the Assessor’s Office in that jurisdiction of your relocation to St. Louis City. If you fail to establish an account with St. Louis City, you will not be entered on the tax rolls to receive a tax bill in November of the tax year. Please be advised that personal property tax receipts are required by the State of Missouri Department of Revenue in order to obtain or renew state plates

To establish an account with the City of St. Louis, you can visit the Assessor's Office in person or mail or fax your request. Your request should include:

  • your legal name(s)
  • residential address
  • social security number
  • daytime phone number.
