St. Louis Regional First Responders conducted an emergency response exercise at Scottrade Center on Sunday, Aug. 7. The exercise gave the region's first responders the opportunity to test their ability to work together to manage a larger emergency event, to improve their ability to react in a disaster situation and thus save lives.

A HazMat responder leaves Scottrade Center.  Sweep complete.

"The City of St. Louis is pleased to host this regional emergency response exercise," said Public Safety Director Charles Bryson. "It is important to conduct these drills so that in the event of a major disaster the various agencies involved will work together smoothly, based on knowledge acquired through these types of exercises."

The exercise was similar to the emergency preparedness drill that was successfully held at Busch Stadium in Aug. of 2006.
