Ron Brendel Receives 40-Year Service Pin

 During a brief ceremony last month at City Hall, Mayor Francis G. Slay presented Ronald Brendel, P.E., with a 40-year Service Pin.

Hired as a per-performance employee by the Office on Manpower (now SLATE) in 1972, Ron Brendel promoted to a full-time City employee in 1973.  He transferred to the Building Division in 1978 as a Plan Reviewer and now is Senior Plan Reviewer/Code Development Specialist.

Mr. Brendel became a licensed Professional Engineer in February 1983.

Since 1986, Ron has served as the City's Code Development representative to BOCA/ICC.  He has served on code development committees since 1988 and currently serves on the ICC Structural Code Change Committee to the Building Code.

For two years, Brendel served on the BOCA Board of Directors.

He is past president of the Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.  

Public Safety Director Charlene Deeken and Building Commissioner Frank Oswald attended the ceremony with Mr. Brendel.
