marine corps logoThe United States Marines will be coming to St. Louis June 20 through June 26 to celebrate Marine Week. During that time, the troops will have parades, equipment demonstrations and precision drills, and our community will have the opportunity to interact with the Marines.

The Marines will also complete a community service project during their stay in St. Louis. Operation Brightside was selected for that honor. Approximately 20 Marines will work each day to help build and plant Operation Brightside's Demonstration Garden and Learning Center at Kingshighway Blvd. and Vandeventer Ave., in the Southwest Garden neighborhood.

The garden and learning center were designed by SWT Design, a local landscape architectural firm. St. Louis Master Gardeners will provide the Marines with planting instructions. Alberici Constructors will be supervising the job, and the Korte Company will show the week's activities on the company's webcam.
