Members of the Missouri Association of Public Purchasing, the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing and other similar associations across the country will be holding special events this month to celebrate "Purchasing Month." Please see link to associated document below for the text of the proclamation.

Purchasing officials play an important role within businesses, industries and governments, for example, ensuring the development of efficient purchasing methods and practices, maintaining ethical standards in buying and selling, promoting uniform public purchasing laws and simplified standards and specifications, and promoting ongoing training and certification of those engaged in the profession.

If you see City Supply Commissioner Freddie Dunlap or members of his staff at City Hall this month be sure to congratulate them for all they do in the field of procurement.
