After undergoing a year-and-a-half long restoration, the Carondelet Branch located at 6800 Michigan Avenue will reopen with a grand celebration on Saturday, June 16 from 2 - 4 p.m.

The festivities will kick-off with a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring welcoming remarks by dignitaries and Library officials.  The Branch will be open for business immediately afterward.  Visitors will see a completely restored and renewed interior, the addition of an elevator, an expanded parking lot, additional restrooms, updated computers, updated collections and a painstakingly cleaned mural.

The Carondelet Branch is the latest in the Library's series of capital improvement projects funded by a property tax approved by St. Louis voters in 1994.  The plan calls for major renovations at every Library location.

Carondelet will resume regular hours on Monday, June 18.
