St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) facilitates real estate development throughout the City of St. Louis. It is the goal of SLDC to bring all City property into productive and effective use using a variety of tools and resources thereby making the City the best place to live, work, and play.

Agency properties are acquired in the name of the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA), the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA), and the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority (PIEA). In addition, SLDC, through the LRA, manages, maintains, markets, and sells agency-owned vacant and abandoned buildings and property. LRA has the authority to carry out these functions through the Missouri Revised Statutes, Chapter 92, Section 92.875.
