Downtown Multi-Modal Access Study

Downtown Multi-Modal Access Study completed in 2013 for pedestrian, bike, transit, and vehicular recommendations for Downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

Publication Date: 08/15/2013
Document Type: Plans and Reports
Sponsor: St. Louis Development Corporation

Summary
The study addresses all modes of transportation and emphasizes strategies to encourage walkability, bicycling and transit usage while considering a larger context of ensuring streetscapes are positioned to support mixed-use retail and serve the needs of those who live, work and play in the Downtown area.  It also attempts to mirror Downtown’s “multi-modal potential" as reflected by Downtown Next’s “2020 Vision for Downtown St. Louis.”

The study was completed in 2013 and was funded through the HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant, awarded to East-West Gateway in 2011. The grant was used to create a Regional Plan for Sustainable Development, which will be completed late 2013. For more information on the plan, visit http://www.onestl.org/
