SLATE MISSOURI CAREER CENTER announces a new educational seminar for businesses entitled The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The seminar is presented in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED), the Division of Workforce Development (DWD), and the St. Louis Area Missouri Employer Committee (MEC). The seminar is presented by Sandberg Phoenix & Von Gontard P.C.
A survey of area businesses, conducted by the MEC, indicated that the Family and Medical Leave Act remains one of the most complex issues for the human resource specialists to address and is not always sufficiently discussed. Seminar attendees will explore various aspects of the FMLA such as basic leave entitlement, benefits and protections, eligibility requirements and employee and employer responsibilities among other topics. The attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session immediately following the presentation.
Speaker: Thomas E. Berry, Jr., Attorney with Sandberg Phoenix & Von Gontard P.C.
The seminar will take place on Thursday, April 7, 2011, 8 a.m. – 10 a.m., at Holiday Inn Forest Park, 5915 Wilson Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110. Registration and breakfast start at 7:30 a.m.
Cost: $25 per person or $40 for two attendees. Price includes breakfast. To register, contact Lynn Beauchaine, at (314) 865-0255 or lynnbeauchaine@att.net.
