Lafayette Park

Lafayette Park holds claim as not only St. Louis' oldest Park but one of the first Parks west of the Mississippi. The Park was named in honor of the Marques de Lafayette (1757-1834), a French statesman who served as a volunteer under General George Washington in the Continental Army during the American Revolution.
