License Collector of the City of St. Louis, Michael McMillan, participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony of MOKAN’s new headquarters. “I am very pleased to see business expansion and development in North St. Louis that stabilizes surrounding neighborhoods. Congratulations to those whose collective skills and contributions brought this about,” says McMillan.
MOKAN has existed for over 30-years and retained its mission as an activist organization for the rights and inclusion of minority construction workers. Later they expanded to vocational training in partnership with the St. Louis Community College District. Today this new facility will allow them to continue training their member construction workers and help them prepare for contract opportunities.
Approximately 200 people during the course of the day attended the event. McMillan was one of numerous community leaders and government officials who participated in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
