Welcome to the City of St. Louis, Missouri, License Collector’s home page. I am Michael McMillan, License Collector for the City of St. Louis, Missouri. This home page is our way of explaining how you can obtain a business license for the City of St. Louis.

   City ordinances require that all businesses operating in the City of St. Louis must obtain a business license. The License Collector’s Office is generally the first stop a business owner makes when initiating activity within the City of St. Louis. Our desire is to make this process as user-friendly as possible.

   The City of St. Louis has many different types of business licenses. By clicking on the "Business License Information" link in the left navigation bar, you will need to search our general business list located at the bottom of the business license information page, for your business type. Once you click on your business type, you will be able to review our requirements, costs and documents needed to obtain a business license for the City of St. Louis. Bring all required information to the License Collector’s Office, Room 104 of City Hall, located at Market and Tucker Blvd. and we will help you secure a business license. If you have any questions pertaining to this process, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
