Biography

Joseph Vollmer is born and raised in St Louis, as a youth he worked at his family’s business, Schnur Funeral Home. Later he became a local musician and also manager of the retail store, Tower Grove Music. Since 1989 he has been an owner of a popular bar/restaurant with his lovely wife Susie, called  Bocce Garden located in The Hill Neighborhood. First elected in 2003 to represent the 10th Ward until April of 2023. During the crisis at the Board of Alderman last year he served as interim President of the Board from May to November. Just recently re-elected to serve as the Alderman of the new 5th Ward as the reduction of the Board from 28 to 14 Wards is instituted.
