In Memoriam: Deputy U.S. Marshal John Perry

One year ago this Thursday, March 8, at about 6:51 a.m. U.S. Deputy Marshal John Perry was fatally shot by a man on whom he was trying to serve felony warrants at 3117 Osage. Deputy Marshal Perry was a 10 year veteran. Also shot was Deputy Marshal Theodore Abegg and a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer. Two police officers and 8 deputy U.S. Marshals went to 3117 Osage to arrest the suspect on charges of assaulting by striking and choking a police officer on October 11, and possessing narcotics. The suspect was also killed.
