For open fire hydrants, please call 771-4880 (24 hours per day). You can also call the police non-emergency number at 231-1212. Open fire hydrants are a danger to traffic, children who play in the water in the street (one child was hit in the Gravois Park Neighborhood earlier this year), can lower water pressure, and may be unavailable in a fire emergency or may be damaged so that they cannot be used.
