Duane Reed Gallery presents the latest work of acclaimed artist Matthew Isaacson. Exhibition opens Friday, May 18th with a reception that evening 5 ? 8pm. The exhibition will run through June 30th. Gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10-5pm. In an ongoing investigation into a post-minimal futuristic landscape, Matthew Isaacson combines industrial manufactured porcelain tiles and fabricated steel to create ?A Grandiose Numerical Equation?. ?While the idea of creating a city boggles my mind; images of the post-modern landscape continuously evolve in my imagination as I work with a ?fixed? yet flexible medium. Stacked tile forms are reminiscent of architectural wonders, op-art, and DNA, possible blueprints of the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all living organisms. This simple act of playfully stacking combined with a focused intention of balance and order sits on the verge of potential chaos.?
